How long does it take to start the steam ?
Almost all Homeward Bath units start producing a heavy steam in about 4-7 minutes upon pressing the Steam button within the shower. From there, you are able to steam as little or as much as you would like. All of our units even provide the option for therapeutic oils during steaming for different outcomes such as relaxation, decongestion, romance and more.
How much water do steam showers use ?
Conserving water use is one of the most important things a household can do in an effort to Go Green. 75% of the water used in our homes comes from bathroom showers, toilets and sinks. At Homeward Bath going Green means adding luxury. 11 liters of water are used per minute in a regular shower. A 17 minute shower therefore uses about 187 liters of water (or around 50 gallons of water). When using a Homeward Bath steam shower, a 12 minute steam followed by a 5 minute shower (at 11 liters per minute) only uses a total of 55 liters (or around 14.5 gallons). This saves you more than 2/3 the amount of water you would have used in a regular shower.
What's needed prior to installation ?
All units are pre-plumbed and come with a ½in hot and cold water supply. The units are 220V power supply.
With a steam shower, do I need an exhaust fan ?
No, you do not need an exhaust fan. The shower is a self-sustaining system and the fan pushes the steam through the chamber.
Do I need an access panel for my steam shower ?
Yes. We always recommend for ease of service that you have an access panel.
Can I use 110 V line to power the steam shower ?
No, you need a 220V, 12-2 line, 20amp GFC1 breaker, available at an electrical specialty store. All showers come with 2 hot wires, 1 ground and no neutral.
With a steam shower where does the steam come from ?
There is a steam cup inside of the shower at the bottom of the main control panel wall.
What are the differences between steam shower models ?
Some model Steam Showers have body jets on both sides of the shower, a touch glass keypad, and chromatherapy lights where you can choose the color from 8 different lights offered, 4.2kW generator.
Some of the models are available in white or black, keypad comes with remote control, 2 shower shelves available, 4 chromatherapy lights circulate 4 colors, 3kW generator.
Steam showers can be assembled from inside and are free-standing.
What can I use to clean the steam shower unit itself ?
Any non-abrasive cleaner will work: Windex, RainX, Kaboom (works well if you have deposits such as minerals). You also can use ammonia and water mixture.
